Helayne Levin, Finance Coordinator
Helayne Levin joined Christ Church UCC in February 2026 with more than a decade of experience in church administrative and operational leadership. Most recently, she served for three years as Communications and Operations Manager at St. Martin’s Episcopal Church. Prior to that, she spent seven years as Administrator at Northbrook United Methodist Church, where she supported congregational life, financial processes, and ministry coordination.
Helayne holds a degree in Social Work from Monmouth University (formerly Monmouth College) in New Jersey. Her professional life has consistently reflected her belief that strong systems, ethical stewardship, and compassionate service strengthen communities of faith.
A lifelong volunteer, Helayne has devoted much of her adult life to service while raising her family. Her involvement has included A Just Harvest Community Meal Program, PTA leadership, Cub Scouts, hockey team management, and classroom engagement. She is particularly proud of completing eight Avon Walks to End Breast Cancer in six years—walking 39.3 miles each weekend and raising over $20,000 to support research and care.
Helayne is deeply committed to social justice. In the mid-2000s, she led her congregation in “Changing the World Together One Block At A Time,” a cooperative initiative with A Just Harvest. The program earned her congregation the prestigious FAIN Award from the Religious Action Center in Washington, DC, for an impactful faith-based community partnership.
Helayne and her husband, Mark, a retired CPA, live in Morton Grove and have two grown children. Their son, Brian, works as an editor in Los Angeles's film industry. Their daughter, Karen, lives in Boston and consults with educators on the use of AI in the classroom after teaching high school mathematics. Helayne treasures the years spent traveling with Karen’s ice hockey teams, cheering her on through two NCAA Division III championships and international medal competitions representing Team USA.
In her spare time, Helayne enjoys crafting and food art. She and her family also embrace adventure—sky-diving, zip-lining, off-roading, hiking, rock climbing, and high ropes courses.
Helayne is honored to serve as Finance Coordinator at Christ Church UCC and looks forward to building strong relationships within the congregation while supporting the faithful stewardship of its ministries.
